US Open Returns To Flushing Meadows: Fight Of Epic Proportions In Women’s Tournament

US Open

Maria Sharapova has recently made a debut on the Facebook with a vigor inviting fans to join her she may have been there, but her recent appearance on the Facebook coincides with her scintillating return to form. By reconnecting with the fans, Maria Sharapova seems to be blowing the bugle that she is ready to have a strike at the US Open and announce to the world her comeback to international tennis. Indeed, the aroma and flavor of Flushing Meadows brings about a sense of gay abandon that cannot be matched anywhere else.

But the reigning queen of Women Tennis, Serena Williams, who is now being portrayed as arguably one of the best players of Women Tennis, would not allow Maria Sharapova to take over so easily. After all, she has returned to a pristine form and USA is her country. So US open of 2010 indeed is going to be exciting, and as the publicity of the tournament seems to be building around the clash of these famous warriors.

Kim Cliijsters would also be looming from the background, to reclaim her crown as she wrote history last year by winning it, history being written by her for being the first Women Mother who won the US Open or for that matter any grand slam. She would not like to sit on her laurels and would be itching to tell the world that her victory last year was not a fluke and still there is quite a lot of tennis left in her.

Comparatively, in the men’s category the competition is not that salivating as it again would be a battle between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal; Federer would try to clinch his crown back while Nadal would try not to allow it. Indeed, there needs a fresh injection of competition to make Men’s circuit as enticing as it has now become for the Women. Who knows, US Open could throw that possibility. Keep the fingers crossed, as it is just a matter of fortnight or so.
