Dec 16: Baroda born and India’s attacking batsman Yusuf Pathan is having full confidence that he will make up in the final squad for the World Cup. Yusuf’s role as only pinch hitter has not let him to be in that role always and said that he can change his game, according to the situation of the match. “That’s absolutely true, that I started as a pinch hitter at the start, but now I have many different roles to play. I always try to play according to the team’s needs and then be it is domestic or International cricket,” Pathan said.

“I have scored a century against the Kiwis and also scored many of the big scores against many countries in the past. It’s not correct that I deal with only sixes and fours, but even I have the potential to rotate the strike in singles and doubles,” added Pathan. Pathan is quite sure that he will find the place in the final squad of the World Cup, which is going to be held in sub-continent from Feb 19 onwards. “Obviously, it’s a dream come true to be part of the World Cup, and I’m no exception. I have worked very hard to be in the national side. I’m working on the both the areas of bowling and batting, so that I can contribute either with one when needed,” Pathan said.

Yusuf gives credit for his past success and performance to his family, his brother Irfan and Coach Gary Kirsten. “Gary always told me to spent long time on crease and also worked out on my bowling. So it was a very great support from his undoubtedly. Even I got good support from my seniors. I surely deserve the place in WC squad,” added Pathan.

Author:

Hello everyone this is Ronak Parekh and I’m currently student of S.Y.B.M.M. I’m 20 years old from Mumbai. I choose my career in B.M.M because I always wanted to do something which is of my interest. And my passion has always been sports especially cricket and F1. I really want to be linked with sports in my future. B.M.M course gives the opportunity in journalism from where I can move to sports category. When I was child I always used to play and watch cricket a lot which usually most of the people does. I gained my interest in F1 due to only one man and that was none other than seven time world champion Michael Schumacher. Actually I’m also very passionate about cars so it is really fun when I see this sport. Today I’m really excited about getting an opportunity to do internship for three months with the sports mirror, where I will have full freedom to express my views and opinions regarding every sport. I definitely will try my best to write the articles as good as possible which would be worth interesting for readers. I really whole heartedly thanking the sports mirror again for giving me this vital opportunity and I promise I will make the most of it.
