The Best Football League?

Best Football League

Europe is the Mecca for football lovers across the globe. It is also the place where the best football leagues exist. England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland, etc all have great clubs playing in them. The English Premier League is the most watched football league in the world while the Spanish La Liga has provided and won the most number of trophies and accolades that is there to achieve. At the same time the Germans with their ‘swagger’ and Holland with the skill of producing world’s best players cannot be counted out. The Italian subtleness can out-do anything, literally! Every country loves its league and believes that there is no better league in the world.

Commentators brag about the clubs the respective countries have and claim that the best clubs come from those countries. Well, everyone support their club and country and would never give up arguing that their league is the best. UEFA has made a system which determines the difference and superiority of the countries according to their club’s success.

Spain is currently the number one country as Barcelona is the world champions with six prestigious titles that are unprecedented for club. They won all six out of six competitions (La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League, Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup) in a single year – a world record. At the same time other clubs like Valencia, Villareal, Sevilla and Athletico Madrid dominate the Europa League. Also, the flurry of money and superstars Real Madrid brings to Spain adds to the luster of Spanish rankings.

England recently jumped up to number two as all the four clubs that qualified for the UEFA Champions League have dominated the group stages and have booked all four tickets in the pre-quarters. Also, teams like Manchester City and Fulham have the potential to win the Europa League. Fulham showed their quality by reaching the finals last year and City has a side that is being a constant threat to any club in Europe.

Italy, Germany and Holland follow the ranking but they have not displayed much grit or success in Europe recently. It has been all England and Spain from three years. Mathematically, Spain has the best football league in the world but if England mange to win a trophy in Europe then new Kings will be crowned.

Author:

My name is Akshay Kulkarni, 19 years old studying in M.V.L.U college. Life interests me a lot, the way it works and proves how it is bigger than anything else in the world. As a BMM student I should be observing, analyzing and interpreting what’s going around, but, I am more interested in asking why and how things are happening. I try my best to keep my personal opinions, moods and feelings away from my way of thinking as influence of these things can deviate me away from knowing the truth behind things.I have a very unique way of looking at things; I think it’s my strength and my identity. I always try to express my ideas in any form possible i.e on paper, verbally, in sounds and movies. I believe in my ideas and I am always in quest for people who are interested in understanding them rather than opposing them.
