Wesley Sneijder Out From Ballon D’Or Top 3

In the European best player of the year award for the last season the three Barcelona maestros were selected for the top 3 spot.  This was a surprising result as the whole world was expecting a name in the list and that’s Wesley Sneijder the Dutch Midfielder and the real motivator in Inter Milan. The young Midfielder achieved almost everything as a footballer last season by winning Champions League with Inter Milan and reaching the finals of World Cup 2010.

The final 3 contenders of Ballon D’Or turned out to be Xavi, Messi and Iniesta. The3 Catalonian Midfielders were one of the key reasons for the success of Barcelona in recent History. The three even displayed a fine performance last season too and led the Club towards La- Liga glory and out of the 3 Xavi and Iniesta even became a part of the World Cup winning squad of Spain. In fact they two were the pioneer behind the success of Spain during this World Cup.

The whole world was shocked by seeing the absence of the Dutch midfielder from the top three candidates. The Barcelona and Spain midfielder and the other candidate Xavi itself felt that Sneijder deserved a top three spot and said that he is in favor of all the angry Italian and Dutch fans.

The UEFA President Michel Platini was also of the opinion that Wesley Sneijder deserved a spot and Lionel Messi who had a poor World Cup should have been in top three. He said rest both Xavi and Iniesta had a good club as well as national side run. He said “It’s unjust the Inter man not being in the top three.”

It was really unfair to see the Dutch attacker out of the top 3 as he led both the club and national side to glory. Anyways now it would be interesting to see who would win the Ballon D’Or this year. Will it be Messi for the consecutive second time or under achievers Xavi and Iniesta?
