Please keep in mind that we will not be able to accept all articles that are submitted, but if your article is relevant to our site, well-written, and offer unique content that will be exclusive, we would like to include your writing on the site.

Topics

We would like the articles you submit to be sports related. Our most popular topics are unparalleled sports news, cover stories, profiles, team notes, head-to-head matchups, schedules and statistics in a concise and entertaining style. Geared to promote sports in a positive way, TheSportsMirror.com strives to inform the reader and present a professional point of view throughout – delivering an excellent value to readers and to advertisers.

Headlines

Headlines, or post titles, are the most important part of your article. Why? Because the majority of people use headlines to decide whether or not to read your article. Doesn’t matter how good or bad your actual article is. If it has a weak headline, it won’t get read.

Keywords

Emphasis should be on keywords. Keywords are the main points in an article and help the article to be recognized by search engines, when a person searches for information present in your article. However, you must not overuse the keywords as this could reduce the chances of the search engine picking up the article.

Article Length

Ideally, all articles need to be 400 words or more, however, this guideline may be lowered if we feel you are able to accurately convey your message in fewer words.

Engage

Always reply to the comments on your articles. It helps to build loyal readers. Either support your team fully or be neutral. Don’t try to disguise the article.

Timing

Previews and reviews of the game should be aptly timed. Previews one day earlier and reviews in 4 hrs of the match finish time.

For Previews do mention the TV channels and the time the match will start (with time zones).

Social Media

Share your articles every time on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Orkut. TheSportsMirror.com also has a Facebook fan page so come and join in the banter and get updates posted to your wall!

Editing

We sometimes edit posts for spelling, grammar, or style to better fit our site.  We will do our best to preserve your overall message, but sometimes titles and content need to be reworded to ensure your article is getting maximum exposure.

All articles written for TheSportsMirror.com must be 100% exclusive content.  We do not want content that is posted elsewhere and we will not accept any content that is not your own unique work.
