“I am in too!” says Bhaichung Bhutia, the Indian Skipper. The Laureus World Sports Awards will be celebrating its tenth year this 2011. This award is acclaimed globally and it is awarded to the world’s most outstanding sports achievers.

What is this?

These awards were introduced in the year 1990 and ever since its establishment the carnival is carried out with the same spirit.

It was developed by Richemont and Diamler, these awards are also generally considered as “The Sports Oscars”.

It is time for the Indian soccer fans to celebrate amidst the other sport festivals. The Indian skipper, Bhutia has been selected to be a part of Laureus World Sports Awards. Indeed this will be one of the greatest privilege for him and the hard core soccer freaks.

Eminent winners of this award included Sarena Williams, Usain Bolt, Kim Clijsters. The awards were hosted last year by the Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey.

It is scheduled to be held at Abu Dhabi this year.

The soccer icon promised that he would keep the flag flying high and live to the hope of his fans.

This award will be decided by the panel of 46 veterans who on extensive analysis will judge the winners.

The living stars of yesterday will be honoring the great sports achievers today.

Bhutia was on cloud nine when he heard the news, it was a box of surprise for him.

The player would also be a part of the charity football team clubbed with other sports people attending this event.
