Amazing And Aspiring – The Australians

The Australians

The Australians

World Cup has become a property to the Australians in the past few years. The literature shows their fabulous performances and ‘winning to glory’ moments. Winning it thrice may not be enough I suppose. If the warriors want to add more glory to their nation by clinching the World Cup for the fourth time in a row, then what is likely to happen?

Fourth victory would mean that the WC has been a great possession to the Aussies, carrying the legacy for sixteen years! Moving to the darker side of the consequence of such a victory, will the committee even mouth a word about the WC if the winning seems monopolized?

If there is only one constant winner, the other players’ morale will dip, essentially they may end putting lesser efforts because the result seems evident.

The Australians at the Test is not the same as those in the ODIs. Laymen at the Test and Lions at the ODIs! The team that trashed the opponents in all the possible matches in 2003-2007, a 22/22 victorious WC Series was undoubtedly the Australians.

They have always met the probable rivals in the penultimate series of the WC, it was an awe struck moment when the Australians bet India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka in a row at the final matches since the year 1999. Teams like West Indies, England, South Africa and New Zealand have all gone unnoticed in the air.

The veterans like Ponting, Bret Lee will be jumping in joy if the World Cup 2011 goes to their kitty. At the same time, it will be a grave moment for the Asian nations for losing, especially as a host nation, Indians would be barefaced.

All the elements of physical and emotions impulses collated together, have become a pile of responsibilities on the heads of our top order players like Sachin, Sehwag, Dhoni, Gambhir and so on.

Will our men in blue make us proud, fill the fans’ heart with inspiring victory or leave us into the dumps by incurring inglorious losses?

Less than a day to GO!
