The ICC has decided against selling any of the tickets the semi-finals and finals of the World Cup, as was decided earlier. The decision came after the ICC’s official partner site for tickets  www.kyazoonga.com crashed minutes after the selling had begun. Thus the remaining tickets shall be sold by lottery to the various fans around the world by an online lottery system.

Kenya captain Jimmy Kamande was injured during the practice session on his left cheek, which eventually got swollen up and has left Kamande’s mouth numb. Unable to speak, Kamande had to miss the scheduled press conference; however he shall be a part of the match against Pakistan on 23rd.

Australian captain Ricky Ponting reportedly broke a television set with his bat in the dressing room after he was adjudged run out in the match against Zimbabwe on the 21st of February. Gujarat Cricket Association secretary Rajesh Patel said, “It’s true. We have already informed the ICC and the Australian cricket authorities about the incident.” However it was further clarified that the matter would not be taken any further as it has been described as a minor incident.

The ICC in its official media release expressed condolence for all those people who have lost their lives in the earthquake in Christchurch.ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said, “At times like this, sport can only offer its support and its deepest sympathy to those who have lost loved ones during such a tragedy.

It’s a helpless feeling but I will be discussing with the organizers of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 how we can most appropriately remember those who lost their lives or have been injured and affected when the Black Caps play their next match against Australia in Nagpur on Friday.

We have already contacted the New Zealand Cricket’s Chief Executive Dr Justin Vaughan to express our concern for him, his staff and the people of Christchurch. The news we have is that the NZC offices have been severely damaged but thankfully everyone who works for NZC seems to have escaped without injury. On behalf of everyone at the ICC and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 we send our heartfelt condolences.

Meanwhile Bangladesh may consider playing Mohammad Ashraful in their next match against Ireland on the 25th. His inclusion comes after Bangladesh failed to capitalize on the power plays in the previous match against India. Ashraful can also bowl off spinners which might be useful for the team.

Hello everyone. I'm a student of Heritage Institute of Technology. Although I'm not very athletic, like every other Indian I've always loved to play cricket. In fact at a given point of time I had serious thoughts of becoming a cricketer. Never mind my namesake is doing great guns at the highest level and I think I'm pretty satisfied with writing articles on the very game which has happened to be my passion right from childhood . I would share whatever little I know about the fascinating game and try and provide facts as well as a cohesive analysis of the latest from the game. Thanks for the opportunity!
