Feb 17: IPL team Kochi doesn’t want to play in Kochi. They even don’t want to play in Indore either, where the couple of their games are scheduled to be there. The franchise is very eager to have Ahmedabad as their permanent venue. In a letter written by the Kochi Cricket Pvt Ltd has said that there are some serious issues which can trouble to their growth in finance. The main reason behind this entire thing is that the judgement of Kerala high court, which rejected the plea of Kochi to built a new stadium due to environment concerns. The franchise has serious doubts over the pitch of Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, which is going to host seven matches.

“KCA’s of not allowing to built a new stadium and the concern over the present venue has made us little worried as if the matches don’t go off smoothly, then certainly it would be a big loss for us and even the IPL’s reputation would be down,” a letter to IPL COO Sundar Raman mentions. It also mentioned that there is 36% of high entertainment tax in Kerala. “This will certainly make the financial loss to us and that would be really sad,” it said. Giving reasons for rejecting Indore it said that even there is very huge entertainment tax and also the air connectivity to the city is not good.

“Our only problem and concern is entertainment tax so that is why we are trying to exit the present venue. Indore has capacity of hosting only two matches compared to other big cities,” the letter states. On Wednesday, IPL released the schedule of 4th edition and the Team Kochi is slated to host four matches. Two matches of them have been scheduled at Indore.

Hello everyone this is Ronak Parekh and I’m currently student of S.Y.B.M.M. I’m 20 years old from Mumbai. I choose my career in B.M.M because I always wanted to do something which is of my interest. And my passion has always been sports especially cricket and F1. I really want to be linked with sports in my future. B.M.M course gives the opportunity in journalism from where I can move to sports category. When I was child I always used to play and watch cricket a lot which usually most of the people does. I gained my interest in F1 due to only one man and that was none other than seven time world champion Michael Schumacher. Actually I’m also very passionate about cars so it is really fun when I see this sport. Today I’m really excited about getting an opportunity to do internship for three months with the sports mirror, where I will have full freedom to express my views and opinions regarding every sport. I definitely will try my best to write the articles as good as possible which would be worth interesting for readers. I really whole heartedly thanking the sports mirror again for giving me this vital opportunity and I promise I will make the most of it.
