Dhoni Named Brand Ambassador For Incredible India’s Campaign

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was announced as the brand ambassador for its Incredible India‘s campaign. The Union Ministry said on Tuesday that it is already taking steps to rope him in this regard. Subodh Jant Sahay said that the ministry is willing to use the charisma that M S Dhoni has gathered over the years.

Recently, Indian cricket captain M S Dhoni, who inspired the country to its first ODI World Cup title in 28 years, has been ranked above US President Barack Obama and global soccer icon Lionel Messi in Time magazine’s list of 100 most influential people in the world for 2010. He said that he was very proud to see Dhoni featuring the top 100 influential people in TIME magazine. That reflects the fame and affection for Dhoni among the masses, he believes. This meant that M S Dhoni is the real face of Incredible India and everybody was proud of him he added. He also said that the decision to rope him as the brand ambassador of Incredible India campaign was a unanimous one.

It is to be noted that Aamir Khan was campaigning for the same in the last few months. Aamir Khan, in the last few months had become a household name even amongst the rural masses in the country. Subodh Jant Sahay also clarified the ministry’s intention to continue with film star Aamir Khan in the Incredible India campaign. This also meant that the ministry had no intentions of replacing the popular Bollywood star with M S Dhoni and hence Aamir Khan would continue campaigning for Incredible India.

The ministry also lavished praise for the Indian team that brought pride to millions of fans all over the country by winning the World Cup. He added that the ministry had sent out letters to the players about the free holiday plans. He said each player of the team has been offered a free holiday anywhere in the country while referring to the query to honor the Indian squad that won the World Cup.
