Boxing, India’s growing sport is gaining more and more accolades after the Indian boxers, Paramjeet Samota and the teen boxing-vulture Shiva Thapa won gold in their maiden appearances at the Winner International Tournament held at Belgrade, Serbia.

Shiva Thapa hails from Guwahati, born to a karate trainer he was deeply inspired by the punches and knocks of Mike Tyson. Shiva was a Champ in most of the Junior World Boxing Tournaments. Samota was also a bronze medal winner at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Game. He is also sponsored by a non-profit organization, Olympic Gold Quest. Currently Thapa is nurturing his skills for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Thapa says that this International Tournament is his first one with the seniors and indeed a remarkable one in his career.

From the rural sands of India comes the boxing budding prince, Paramjeet. He belongs to Bhiwani District, Haryana.  In the fifth Commonwealth Boxing Championships held in New Delhi, he along with five other fellow Indians won gold medal.

At Serbia, Samota beat the Bosnian Marceta Mane. The game went on with nail biting moments where the two youths kept the rounds on a tie while Shiva defeated a Bulgarian boxer Delaklive Detelin to win his gold.
