Bengaluru, August 16, 2012: Lokko Sports India Pvt. Ltd. today launched the South United Football Club Private Limited (SUFC) at the St. Marks Hotel in the city. SUFC, the Bangalore based club aims to compete in the I-League. Lokko Sports Pvt. Ltd. also operates a number of soccer schools in the country and also owns the Women’s football team in Mumbai.

The SUFC’s Head Coach is none other than Mr. Raman Vijayan, the only 2nd professional Indian to finish top scorer in an I-League season. The core objective of the club is to develop and promote football talent to compete in the International level, which the country sorely lacks. Marking the launch as a new era for football in the city, Lokko Sports Pvt. Ltd. intends to create a sporting environment especially at the grass-root levels, addressing the need to identify better talents and professionalize football in all areas, providing them opportunities to exhibit their skills and talents and create a platform to play professional soccer.

The launch event also addressed the lack of facilities for Football in the country, with the state of playing surfaces being very poor and the very low number of qualified coaches in India. Given the Indian strength of adaptation in various fields, the club intends to bring in the best philosophies of world football and impart it to its players.
