Spurs had come into the match on a 4 match consecutive winning streak and Chelsea were undefeated in the league with 6 wins and a draw in 7 matches.

Chelsea manager Di Matteo said that they had lost their foot around 10-12 minutes in the second half and they went behind, but were in total control throughout the remainder of the match.

The international break did not have any effect on Chelsea’s momentum. They were brilliant throughout the match despite going behind once.

Spurs manager Andre Villa Boas who was the ex – Chelsea manager would have been hoping to get revenge against his old team after being fired prematurely in his term as their manager.

Spurs manager did not blame the loss on the absence of Mousa Dembele thorugh injury and Gareth Bale missing out due to child birth. AVB said that Chelsea came back thanks to the brilliance of some individual players notably that of Juan Mata and Eden Hazard.

Chelsea still sit atop the table with 22 out of a maximum 24 points. Spurs are now 5th with 14 points.
