Wave World Kabaddi League: Yo Yo Tigers wins against Royal Kings USA




New Delhi, 24th August 2014: Yo Yo Tigers registers their2nd consecutive win by defeating Royal Kings USA by 58-54 in the 11th match of the Wave World Kabaddi League today here at here in New Delhi at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. Last week while Yo Yo Tigers defeated Vancouver Lions, Royal Kings USA got defeated to Lahore Lions during the Birmingham leg of the international kabaddi league. The next match will be played between Lahore Lions and Punjab Thunder. The key players of Lahore Lions team are raiders – Babar Waseem Gujjar, Shafiq Ahmad Chishti, Akmal Shahzad Dogar and stoppers Mohsin Naseer Wahla, Muhammad Ramzan and Lala Saifullah.

The quarter started on a balanced note with a flurry of attacks and counter attacks by both the teams displaying some amazing moves by the raiders at both ends. The first quarter was dominated by raiders leaving no scope for stoppers to ground them. Gursewak Singh and Satish Khattar of Yo Yo Tigers were invincible with their god speed pace. Sohan Singh and Jaskaran Singh of Yo Yo Tigers were the best as of stoppers grounding the opponent on few incidents. The first quarter saw a cut throat competition, with impeccable moves, agile reflexes and speed showed by both the teams. At the end Yo Yo Tigers ended up on a winning note by three points thereby resulting in 13 – 16 at the points tally.

The second quarter started on a very impressive note by successfully converting the raid into a point for Yo Yo Tigers. Sandeep Kumar of Yo Yo Tigers won another point for the team in the second raid made by the team. Royal Kings USA was trailing in the 1st quarter by 3 points but they bounced back and scored few quick points by successfully converting their raids and stops. In the 25th minute of the quarter Royal Kings USA’s Harkirat Singh made and amazing stop and did not let the raider move a single step earning another point for the team. It was a very intense quarter and Royal Kings USA completely took over and made 1 point lead over Yo Yo Tigers with a score of 29-28 on the scoreboard.

The third quarter started with an impressive note as both the teams gave tough competition to each other. Harwinder Singh and Rupinder Singh of Royal Kings USA made good raids and scored points for the team. However, Sandeep Kumar and Angrej Singh of Yo Yo Tigers made good raids and gave tough competition to the opponents and kept the competition neck to neck. However during the last raid of the 3rd quarter Royal Kings USA managed to score points for the team and kept the score tally at 42-41.

The final quarter of the match was getting more exciting as both the teams were giving their best shot and the score was moving neck to neck. In the 31st minute of the match Royal Kings USA’s Bohar Singh made a super raid where he was interlocked by the opponent but managed to get back into the pala and scored another point for the team. Royals Kings maintained the lead but Yo Yo Tigers picked up the pace and equalized the score in the 33rd minute of the game with 45-45 on the scoreboard. Both the teams played and showed their skills very well and Yo Yo Tigers won the match with a difference of 4 points with final scores moving to 58-54.
