India have been scheduled to play T20 series against Sri Lanka before the T20 season begins. The first T20 will be held in Pune on February 9, second in Delhi on February 12, and the final match will be played in Visakhapatnam on February 14. The newly constructed stadium in Pune who recently got Test status last November will host his second T20 international.
It will be chance for both the team to decide various combinations before the Asia Cup and World T20. India are scheduled to travel to Bangladesh on 24th February for Asia Cup and will be returning back to home for the World T20 beginning March 8. India will also face three T20 in Australia after the conclusion of ODI series. These two series can prove to be vital for MS Dhoni and his men to get into winning ways before mega ICC events.
Both the teams have not been in winning ways recently. India are currently trailing by 4-0 in series against Australia and New Zealand had a disappointing tour to of New Zealand. Both teams will look to find some winning form before major events. Players like Raina, Pandya will look to grab these opportunities to claim a place in World T20 squad. Whereas the new look Sri Lanka team will play their first major ICC event without the services of Sangakara and Jayawardene. Sri Lanka will also look to forget their off field activities and get into winning ways.
