Hockey India opens sale of Junior World Cup tickets




Delhi, 10 November 2016: With less than a month to go for the Uttar Pradesh Hockey Junior World Cup Men Lucknow 2016, the Hockey India has opened  the sale of tickets  for the tournament which will take place between 8-18 December in Lucknow, India.

Tickets for the event are priced between Rs 50-200 and can be bought at http://ticketgenie.in/Details/Uttar-Pradesh-Hockey-Junior-world-Cup-Men-Lucknow-2016

In addition, the Hockey India also set up various outlets in Lucknow for Hockey lovers to buy tickets. Ticket selling van is also placed, which will travel across the different places in the city. The list of these centres is attached below.

Speaking about the opening of the sales, Mr Navneet Sehgal, Principal Secretary Sports, Government of Uttar Pradesh said, “Traditionally hockey has been a sport that has long been loved by the state of Uttar Pradesh. We thank Hockey India for opening the ticket sales early and providing several different outlets within City to purchase tickets, so that Hockey Lovers of Lucknow can come in huge numbers to support the Junior teams and celebrate hockey. A lot of outlets are around Universities and education campuses in the hope that the youth will take to hockey like never before. We are hoping that the facilities will provide an ease and convenience to fans, supporters and vendors alike.”

India’s Junior Men are in Pool D with England, South Africa and Canada. Their opening game is against Canada on December 8th. They play England on December 10th and South Africa on December 12th.

The medal matches will then be held on Sunday 18 December, with the Bronze medal match at 16:45 hrs and the Final taking place at 19:00 hrs (All times are IST).
