Leonardo To PSG

Inter Milan manager Leonardo has left the club to take up the job at Paris Saint-Germain. Inter will be on the lookout for their fourth coach in almost a year.

Leonardo took over the realms from Rafa Benítez at the San Siro in December, much to the fury of the other half of Milan, where he had spent his playing career and also had been in the position of manager for a year.

Paolillo, chief executive of Inter, told Bloomberg: “Leonardo is going to Paris and the club is looking for a new coach. We wanted to keep him but he has decided to leave us.”

It has been rumoured in the past week that Leonardo would seek a move to PSG, which has been recently taken over by Qatar Sports Investments. PSG joins the list of oil funded clubs along with Chelsea and Manchester City.

Though under Leonardo, Inter have had a better season than they did under Benitez, the fact that he was a player for arch rivals AC Milan was not very popular with the fans. Leonardo managed to guide Inter to the Coppa Italia, but he has been accused of an inability to win big matches and make effective substitutions.

Fiorentina coach, and former Inter player, Sinisa Mihajlovic, has been mentioned as a possible successo. Spaletti and Bielsa were also the other names which have been splashed around the footballing world.
