The Yellow Kings team secured the first position in the Vivek High Basketball League (Season – 3), held at Vivek High School, Mohali, from July 12 – September 27, 2014.
The last match of the league between Yellow Kings (Team G) and Vivek Champs (Team A), turned out to be a one-sided affair as Yellow Kings drubbed the latter by 47-6. Jagatjit and Nitesh emerged as the stars for the winning team, scoring maximum points.
Vivek High Basketball League – Yellow Kings stamp their authority on court!
The league was divided into eight teams of the same age group and each team had 8-9 players. The aim of the basketball league was to build the team spirit, confidence within the students and highlight the importance of being physically fit.
Ms. Meenu Ahluwalia, Head of the Senior Wing, appreciated the efforts and dedication of the students.

I must appreciate school’s initiative to promote sports among students and involvement of Parent Volunteers (Coaches and Managers) in the league activities. Parent Volunteers facilitate communication regarding practices, assisting in coaching, games, last-minute changes and team social events. They act as “culture keepers” and instill the values of the positive, character-building sports experience.
I would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Minakshi Sohal, Mr. Vishal Sharma, Mr. Manoj Saini and other sports officials involved in the league.
And I truly believe it’s a great learning experience for the team members and as well as for the parents.
