Karachi, Dec 13: Pakistan would not be taking part in hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 matches, but still it will not stop the Pakistan Cricket Board, to make money of around 16 to 17 million USD dollars from the tournament. Sources from the Pakistan Board has confirmed that, the International Cricket Council and the three hosts for the World Cup India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh has assured Pakistan that, they will receive the share money from hosting fees, sponsorship and ticket revenues, as they were supposed to host the matches earlier. Pakistan were supposed to hosts 14 matches of the tournament including the semi finals, but due to the attacks on the Sri Lankan players by the militants last year in Lahore, ICC changed their mind and didn’t want to take the risk and shifted the matches to other three host countries.

“Pakistan despite being not be able to host any of the World Cup games, which they were supposed to do, they will still get the finance of their 14 matches of hosting in terms from sponsorship, ticket revenues and hosting fees” said one source. He said in the recent executive board meeting that, the ICC new President Sharad Pawar has assured the PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt, that they will get the financial benefits from the tournament, despite being not the hosts.

Since the attacks, Pakistan has been restricted to hosts any of the cricket game at home and are forced to play the home series at neutral venues, including Abu Dhabi and England, due to still security concern in the nation. Pakistan despite being playing the ‘home’ series at neutral veuues of New Zealand, UAE and England, the board still managed to earn the profits from it in the last two years.

Hello everyone this is Ronak Parekh and I’m currently student of S.Y.B.M.M. I’m 20 years old from Mumbai. I choose my career in B.M.M because I always wanted to do something which is of my interest. And my passion has always been sports especially cricket and F1. I really want to be linked with sports in my future. B.M.M course gives the opportunity in journalism from where I can move to sports category. When I was child I always used to play and watch cricket a lot which usually most of the people does. I gained my interest in F1 due to only one man and that was none other than seven time world champion Michael Schumacher. Actually I’m also very passionate about cars so it is really fun when I see this sport. Today I’m really excited about getting an opportunity to do internship for three months with the sports mirror, where I will have full freedom to express my views and opinions regarding every sport. I definitely will try my best to write the articles as good as possible which would be worth interesting for readers. I really whole heartedly thanking the sports mirror again for giving me this vital opportunity and I promise I will make the most of it.
