The Epic Game

India vs Pakistan

India vs Pakistan

No calculations I had or did not bother to see the fixtures, was expecting India and Pakistan at the Finals on April 2 at Mumbai. That will be the match of the century, a World Cup Final between the bifurcated nations, stirring all the history right from 1857.

Yeh! That is not happening, but on a smaller grid it is happening, the Semi-Final match against the two rebellions.

The Road to The Epic Game!

The journey which led to this is a huge battle between the nations split under the Groups which all of us know and can be cut off. The match, the game in which I lost the bet, the team that put me in a financial crunch, is the second Quarter-Finals, India vs Australia. Yellow seemed so much winning by setting the target pretty high up there at 260, what that happened was different.

The so-called owners of the World Cup, Aussies are out of the tournament now. A shameful moment for the Kangaroo Boys indeed to return home after the dismissal at the Quarter-Final – Ponting’s last World Cup, Bret Lee another old hand out there played with sole determination of winning this match, but it collapsed. In the last few balls, just before Yuvi hit a boundary tears rolled out of Ponting’s eyes, Bret Lee’s last delivery was very hopeless. The emotional drama apart, losses are just a part of such series. Compared to what Team Pakistan faced at the Caribbean last 2007 this is just a decimal of that humiliation which Inzamam faced.

Perhaps it is just we who are thinking a lot, sitting in our drawing room, probably the team would have cheered up with little pain hidden in the face and the heart yet smiling and moving on.

Yellow plus Blue gives Green, the most awaited match is now on, between the Blue and the Green. Semi-final between the sub-continents is going to be the feast for all the gluttons of cricket, who are ready die for the game.

The SWOT done by the analysts, for the two teams might not work out well in forecasting the champion, who will be travelling to Mumbai for the Finals. The history shows a very aghast report where Pakistan defeated the two big shots in the domain, the Sri Lanka and Australia. For India it is now a question of reputation, politics, millions of fans, the Golden Cup and so on which has to be answered with one simple projection of a colossal match by defeating the Green in the coming match.

Will the wonder of 1983 be replayed now?  Wait and see. Yellows is gone, will the Green also dissolve in the Blue sea… or?
