IPL 2011: Rajasthan Royals Beat Pune Warriors India

Pune Warriors India lost their sixth match on a trot against the resurgent Rajasthan Royals. The winner was decided in the last over, as once again it was Pune who failed in all departments to end their losing streak.

As it can be said, that after doing the same mistakes in previous five matches and repeating it in the sixth match, which leads to defeat.  It is nothing less than a suicide. The team is good enough to know their mistakes after five matches, as they know that the sixth defeat will almost take them out of the semi-final race.

The batting department was the main culprit for the defeat. Kiwi opener Jessi Ryder once again got out early while playing irresponsible shots. In most of the matches, he got out due to poor shot selection. He was followed by Robin Uthappa, who also suffers the phobia of poor shot selection.  Playing the first ball as reverse sweep to Shane Warne might have taken his confidence to LOC (Line of Over Confidence), which allowed him to play the same risky shot to the great spinner at a important stage, which resulted in wicket and the downfall of the Pune batting order.

Yuvraj was unlucky to get out, but once Uthappa got out, the run rate decreased incredibly. From 70 run mark in the eighth over, they were able to take the score to 121 in the eighteenth over.  Just 51 runs in ten overs.

Among the bowling and fielding, yet again they dropped catches, that too of Ross Taylor, who was the man of the match for his heroics. Murali Karthik gave 41 runs in four over’s. Rahul sharma’s alone perseverance was not enough to make Pune victorious.

After six defeats, the Pune team’s body language does not indicate that they are playing a world class match. It requires more intensity. None of their bowlers presently gives hopes of a five wicket haul or even their batsmen who can score a century. It’s really a suicide because the level of game has not reached where it has to be.
