This will be India’s first tour, after their World Cup Triumph. It is time to visit the Caribbean which provides a wonderful opportunity for the fringe players to make their mark. With several players rested and injuries wandering around the Indian Team, it’s the ideal time for the youngsters to show their worth.

India will start their campaign against the West Indies with a lone T20 match, followed by 5 ODI’s and 3 Test Matches. However, more than the opportunity it will be the pressure which the young guns need to handle. The much Indian depleted side for the Windies tour has added a bit more pressure on the debutants. However, every player carries pressure of performing. This is international cricket and one needs to be mature enough to take up such a challenge. It will be surely a tough tour for the fringe players but success does not come without handling difficulties and pressure.

However, it is indeed a very big stage for the young guns to fire and make their performances count. The young, Abhinav Mukund, a fine 1st class performer will get the chance to show his worth; this time in an International game. Virat Kohli, a very talented performer, might get the opportunity to play in ‘Whites’ for the 1st time. In and out of the team, Rohit Sharma too has been provided another opportunity to cement his place. He was stated as the next big thing in the Indian cricket and it would surely be on the mind of the Mumbai Boy. He is a wonderful find for India but has been purely inconsistent. He came into the side with flying colours, but ever since he returned from the Aussie tour, he has failed to impress. However, he is widely appreciated for his cricket and the Caribbean tour provides another great opportunity to get back on track. Badrinath and Vinay Kumar will be among the fringe players and would be desperate to make this tour count for them. Amit Mishra, following his dream IPL 4 season has been invited to prove his worth. Talented Manoj Tiwary and Shikhar Dhawan are also the players to look out for the tour.

The young Indian Brigade would surely be excited and nervous at the same time for the Windies Tour. The ODI’s will be purely be re-presented by the young bloods and it will be indeed a scintillating encounter to watch as the youngsters will put in everything to get into the limelight.

India’s stand in captain in ODI’s for the West-Indies tour, Suresh Raina has stated that it will be a great opportunity for the fringe players as several senior players are rested for the tour.

Raina said “It’s a great opportunity for the youngsters who have done well in domestic cricket media.”I am happy with the side, as we have some very good batsmen in Rohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, S Badrinath and Shikhar Dhawan, all of whom have done well in first-class cricket.”

However, Raina said that they are not taking the tour lightly and will go out all guns blazing. He also stated that he has learnt a lot about the captaincy art from players like Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid and Dhoni.

He further added “West Indies have players like Gayle missing, but it will be a challenge for us. “There’s always pressure and we have done well under pressure. It’s for us as players to execute the plans of the coach well. We have to play our natural game.”

A big question will be whether the Young Indian Brigade would be able to beat the Windies. However, considering the form the Indian players are in and the talent the country keeps on generating, it seems that the youngsters might just flourish and make the fans proud. It will be a wonderful tour as the youngsters have been provided the much awaited break.
