BCCI Still Strong On UDRS

BCCI still strong on UDRS

BCCI still strong on UDRS

Not only the whole cricketing world have their eyes vividly staring at the BCCI but even the journalists, media, legends, former cricketers and most importantly the public is beginning to question certain drastic decisions that are unnecessary taken by BCCI. After BCCI announced its discomfort with UDRS, India will tour England without the new technology playing in action.

The people have always backed the BCCI for some extraordinary decisions taken at crucial stages and those stand tall among glories and fame for the long life of Indian cricket. The best till now has been when BCCI refused to continue with the Australian tour in 2008 after the monkey-gate incident. Yes, BCCI capitalizes its domination with the help of money power but its domination will not stand a chance if it decides to against the spirit of the game.

The BCCI has always been opposing the technology use right from the beginning and the answer for that is unclear till now. Is BCCI acting under the orders of Dhoni? Newspaper reports every article of UDRS backed with a statement saying the master blaster himself is against it. Now, what is the point when the decision given against you is unfair, and just by nodding your head and earning a statement like” oh, you will have to feel sorry for the batsman”. Sachin, are you expecting that from the commentary box? If yes then the story will be different. It will be “be sorry for yourself, you have wasted your opportunity” a statement earlier made in context of poor batting now holds good for not using UDRS. Is India’s greatest captain with a great winning percentage is blocking UDRS just because his success rate with UDRS is very low and wants that statistical figure out of his captaincy textbook records?

UDRS is a great initiative from ICC and they are trying to ensure the right decision is given. Just because you are on the wrong side with the reviews being unsuccessful you can’t oppose. When you say that technology has to perfect and answer is definitely no and that is not a reason to block UDRS. Some run-out decisions is touch and go with the 3rd umpire, so will you just go against the system ah BCCI?  There are some loopholes with UDRS but that’s the one with which BCCI should be assisting ICC. You will have to face the situation and escape is not a solution. If the BCCI still does not learn from its mistake on being strong at UDRS and walks boasting “if we oppose then ICC will obey” then it’s a sad story. ICC has to step up to this issue and make the UDRS compulsory and put a full stop to the talks of ICC being a puppet for BCCI and holds its position hailing high and keep cricket clean.
