West Indies Cricket Losses As Gayle And WICB Egos Clash

Chris Gayle and WICB

The destructive force of Chris Gayle remains unselected for the test series, as egos clash between WICB and the player. In the current state of affairs, it is the WICB who is in the fix, as the West Indies team looks incomplete without Gayle; they have already lost the ODI series and the test series are scheduled starting the coming Monday. The batting department looks really unstable and the inclusion of Gayle will give them a huge boost.

The West Indian player had commented on the prevailing management system of the cricket board of the country and expressed his views about the cricketing system on a local radio channel which seems to have not gone well with the WICB.

The WICB officials had arranged meetings with the player but they have seemed to end without any way out. Chris Gayle was not selected in the ODI series against India and his name has not been put in the upcoming Test Series yet.  The WICB was also annoyed with Gayle for going to play in the IPL while the national team took on Pakistan back at home.

The board stated that it was not the first time that they had problems with negotiating with him; earlier exceptional efforts had been made, especially during his tenure as captain, according to the wish of Gayle. But, amongst all this, there is one more point to be seen; Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who like Gayle, had made remarks about the board in a radio interview was included in the team. So, it really doesn’t make sense as to why the board has such a big issue with Gayle, knowing well that he is one of the key players in the West Indies side.

In this ego clash between the player and the WICB, it is the West Indies cricket that is suffering the most.
