Wilshere picked up the injury while playing for Arsenal in the Emirates Cup against New York Red Bulls. He limped off after just 7 minutes. But the forecast was that Wilshere will be out for 2-3 weeks to the most. But now he will have to wait till November. Wilshere said – “I can confirm I will be out for around 2-3 months! I am working hard in the gym to stay fit and I am gutted but I will be back stronger.”

The injury will force Wilshere to miss crucial matches for both England and Arsenal. He will be missing the Euro qualifiers against Montenegro and also miss the opening Champions League group matches for Arsenal. Wilshere’s England and Arsneal teammate Theo Walcott said – “Jack’s a very important player for us. It’s a shame he’s had this ankle problem. But he’s a bright lad – he’ll be back as soon as he can. Fingers crossed it’s going to be a bit sooner than that. He’ll have to get back as soon as possible. We’re going to miss him but he’s professional enough to get on with it.”
