Bolt’s Four Gold Dream

As I have learnt in economics that wants are unlimited and if one want is satisfied another arises. Similar is the desire of Usain Bolt to win four gold medals in the upcoming 2012 London Olympics. As the fastest man on earth has made it very clear that he wants to be remembered as a legend and consider himself as the most naturally gifted athlete in the world according to a recent tweet by the Jamaican himself. The debate here is that, is bolt running too fast, is he aiming too much? “No” says Glen Mills when asked the same question mirroring the confidence of the coach in the sprint star. The kind of shape bolt is in at present is the best and he wants to deliver the best. Bolt ran few 400’s earlier this year but he stated that it was just to boost his stamina for the 200m event. The next option remains long jump which was taken up as the fourth event by the American legends Jesse Owens and Carl Lewis in 1934 and 1984 Olympics respectively. Glen Mills is a meticulous man and it will be totally his take. Bolt said. Mills kept bolt s name out of the 100 meter event till the last minute at the Beijing Olympics also as a part of his plan. Bolt will be arriving in the city of London early to get the feel of the new and faster synthetic rubber tracks.

Usain Bolt's four Gold dream

The world media and critics are not surprised by the lanky sprint star’s desire because even though he seems to be a funny showman when he gets the paparazzi attention  seconds before the race, but he transforms into a serious sportsman as the voice of “on your mark” alerts his mind. Usain bolt will be all set to better and also defend his own world records of 100m and 200m with much more seriousness as he made a mockery of other athletes running long way behind him by celebrating 15 meters before the line, still managing to set an Olympic record though!. No athlete has successfully defended his own world records in successive Olympics and the likes of Tyson Gay and his training partner Asafa Powell will not make things any better for the Olympic champion. The false start in the recent world championship 100 m event that saw Yohan Blake take the title will also fuel the fire to win and retain the title of unbeatable. Mike Powell, The long jump champion and world record holder for the past 10 years (8.95m)  when asked  by a journalist “can anyone break your record?” he replied with a smile “yes! Usain bolt”. He can jump over 9 meters he added.

Let us wait and see how many times the lightning bolt strikes at the Olympic Stadium, London 2012.
