Team News for India

Men-in-blue are on a cloud 9 after beating the World No. 1 South Africa a few days back in the group match. Now, Kohli and company are all ready to take the winning momentum to semi-final and crush Bangla tigers.

Kohli’s own form will crucial to this match. The dashing right hander got a staggering average of 70 in his last 10 outings against Bangladesh. He is expected to play a big knock on Thursday. Kohli also has 157 runs in 3 matches in the ongoing Champions Trophy.

India’s game plan will be to let Dhawan and Rohit open the innings and let the duo lay the platform for the pinch hitters to exploit in the last 10 overs. But India has to maintain a steady run-rate from the very start or else some tight bowling from Bangladesh in the late overs could play spoilsport for India.

India’s Rohit Sharma has amassed 181 runs while Shikhar Dhawan has garnered 271 runs in the tournament so from from 3 matches that India played showing their good form with the bat. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bowling will eventually play a decisive factor in Tomorrow’s match.

What is going in favour of Bangladesh is their fiery fast bowling at powerplay and death overs. The West Indian legend Courtney Walsh is currently overseeing their bowling as a bowling coach and has infused a gush of confidence inside them.

Ahead of the big clash against their big brother – India, Bangladesh bowlers like Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain and Mashrafe Mortaza (Captain) are constantly taking fast bowling tips from Walsh.

Left-handed Rahman’s performance will be a key to Bangladesh’s victory as he is in good form. The team has good batting options too in Tamim Iqbal, Sabbir Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahman and Mahmudullah – all are capable of hitting big shots and taking the game away from the opponents.
