Bathinda, October 10: California Eagles continued their winning streak as they beat Vancouver Lions 63-53 to notch up their seventh win in eight matches to move into sole second position after the 47th match of Wave World Kabaddi League in Bathinda.

California Eagles, who has a terrible start in the league with  a string of losses have been in great form and it showed against Vancouver Lions as they dominated the match and led right through from first quarter.

The first quarter saw the raiders from California Eagles make an immediate impact as Jagmohan Makhi and Sukhpal Singh made four successful raids each and the star stoppers Mikhail Jamal Abdul Latif and Angrez Singh made 1 stop each. Although the raiders from Vancouver Lions Sucha Singh and Gagandeep Sabrawal tried their best to reduce the deficit their stoppers did not provide support as California Eagles led Vancouver 20-13.

Into the second quarter California Eagles continued brilliant display. Mikhail Jamaal (Seattle) led from the front and confident stops by Balkara Singh and Amrinder Singh of California Eagles added to the edge. Sukhibir Singh of Vancouver Lions performed well as the raider, but it was of no use as California Eagles increased the lead to 37-24.

The third quarter started with a point difference of 13 points and California Eagles stayed the dominant team. Vancouver Lions did try hard but Baldev Singh and Harjeet Singh, raiders from California Eagles made five successful raids and kept he momentum going for their team. For Vancouver Lions Sucha Singh made four successful raids and the score stayed in California Eagles favour at 51-40.

By the end of the final quarter California Eagles ensured Vancouver Lions were thwarted from any comeback efforts as they win 65-53.
